THOMAS ELIAS, AUTHOR holds a B.A. Degree in History and an M.A. Degree in Communications from Stanford University, Palo Alto, California.

Mr. Elias writes a syndicated political column appearing twice weekly in 93 California newspapers, with circulation over 2.3 million. He has won numerous awards from organizations like the National Headliners Club, the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the California Taxpayers Association. His columns have also won the top award for signed commentary from the Los Angeles Press Club in each of the past 9 years. He is the author of two best-selling books, The Burzynski Breakthrough: The Most Promising Cancer Treatment and the Government's Campaign to Squelch It (also published in Japanese, German and Polish) and The Simpson Trial in Black and White, co-authored with the late Dennis Schatzman.

He has taught Journalism at the University of Southern California, California State University at Northridge and two other Cal State campuses. He spent 15 years as national correspondent for Scripps Howard News Service and was Southern California correspondent for the Sacramento Bee.

Thomas learned of the work of Stanislaus Burzynski, M.D. when he was approached by his friend Mary Jo Siegel, then President of the Burzynski Patient Group, while doing daily coverage of the O.J. Simpson criminal trial in 1995. Mary Jo's Grade 4 lymphoma had been placed into remission by Dr. Burzynski's Antineoplaston Treatment 5 years earlier (she is still healthy) and she feared the FDA was about to imprison the man who had saved her life with as much as a 300-year term.

Elias wrote a series of stories for Scripps Howard on Burzynski, his treatment and the federal charges against him (he was eventually acquitted on all counts). In the process, Thomas became convinced of the efficacy of the Antineoplaston Treatment, a peptide-based solution that acts as a genetic switch which draws positive responses when used against about 65% of all cancers. He later decided to write a book on the treatment and the government's decades-long persecution of its inventor. The Burzynski Breakthrough has sold over 35,000 copies since its initial publication in 1997. It is now in its fourth printing. More than 400 persons have contacted Elias to tell him their lives were saved because they read his book and sought the Antineoplaston Treatment.

You can reach Mr. Elias at his office in Santa Monica, California via email at burzbook@aol.com, an address dedicated solely to answering questions about his book and about Antineoplastons. The Burzynski Clinic can be contacted toll-free at 800-714-7181.

He will speak on The Science & Politics Of The Burzynski Therapy.
