MICHAEL FOX, D.V.M., Ph.D. was born in England and received his Veterinary Degree from London’s Royal Veterinary College and his Ph.D. in Medicine and a D.Sc. in Ethology/Animal Behavior from London University, England. He later went to the United States and became the Medical Research Associate at the State Research Hospital in Gallsburg, Illinois for 3 years. He then became the Associate Professor of Psychology at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. From 1976 up to the present, he has worked in the non-profit sector in animal and environmental protection and health.
Dr. Fox has authored over 40 books, including Agricide and Eating With Conscience—The Bioethics of Food. He has a nationwide syndicated newspaper column called “Animal Doctor.” He is also a Consulting Veterinarian and gives lectures and seminars both in the U.S. and abroad on a variety of topics related to animal welfare and behavior. He also lectures on planetary “CPR” (conservation, preservation and restoration), which is integral to human health and a viable future.
A full set of Dr. Fox’s writings are in the Archives of American Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State University and The Parks Library, Ames, Iowa. He is profiled in Marquis’ Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
His latest books include Killer Foods: When Scientists Manipulate Genes, Better is Not Always Best and The Healing Touch for Dogs and The Healing Touch for Cats.
Dr. Fox will review some of the contributing factors to cancer, notably modern agricultural practices and the cruel “Factory Farming” of animals. He will show that cancer is a symptom of dis-ease whose prevention is beyond the reach of narrow-minded establishment medicine, which is a political problem.
