EVA EDELMAN, N. D., received a B.A. Degree in Psychology in 1970 from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She continued her education with 2 years toward a Masters Degree in Mathematics, interrupted at the end by a growing fascination with the emerging field of Natural Medicine. She then studied under Dr. Bernard Jensen, Dr. John Christopher and other pioneers in the health field. She has worked for the past 2 decades as a Nutritionist, Herbalist, Health Educator and Journalist.
In 1996, Dr. Edelman completed the encyclopedic book, Natural Healing For Schizophrenia: A Compendium of Nutritional Methods. This was followed in 1998 by a greatly expanded and updated edition Natural Healing For Schizophrenia And Other Common Mental Disorders. These books integrate information on Orthomolecular Nutrition, Brain Biochemistry, Herbology, Environmental Medicine and Physical Illness. She is now in the process of researching and writing a book on natural approaches to the treatment of manic depression.
In consideration of her 20 years of accumulated knowledge and experience, and of the benefit to Naturopathic Practice represented by her writings, Dr. Edelman was awarded American Naturopathic Medical Association (ANMA) Board certification in 1998 and a Naturopathic License from Washington, D.C. early this year.
Currently, she practices as the Nutritional Consultant at SAFE, a support organization run almost entirely by and for people with severe mental disorders. Eva also lectures and appears on radio shows nationwide.
